Police seek cyclist after chase

Police are looking for a motorcyclist who led officers on a chase in Schuylkill County on Monday.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said the incident began at 5:45 p.m. along Route 61 in the area of Market Street in West Brunswick Township. Troopers observed a motorcycle being driven southbound with no registration plate displayed. A traffic stop was attempted at Route 61 and Market Street but the operator fled northbound on 61 at Dock Street and through the borough of Schuylkill Haven. The pursuit continued through the borough on Route 443 west to East Union Street. The cyclist then traveled back through the borough east on East Main Street to the intersection with Manheim Road.

The cyclist then traveled north on 61 in the southbound lanes. The cyclist then turned north on Earl Street and then east back onto East Main Street. The cyclist then traveled back through Schuylkill Haven onto Route 443 west. Due to heavy traffic troopers discontinued the pursuit.

The motorcycle was mostly white with back accents and bright orange wheels. It is believed to be a Suzuki GSX-R. The driver was wearing a black full face helmet with dark orange accents, a black riding jacket and dark pants.
