Gardening tips offered

Penn State Master Gardeners held the annual plant event Saturday at the Lehigh Gap Nature Center in Slatington. Master Gardener Joe Veshinfsky coordinated the event. From left are Kira Kuehner, who did a workshop on growing herbs for beginnings; Carol Schnaiter, who taught propagation of house plants; and Sally Black, who conducted did a workshop on hydroponics. Susan Wilson, not pictured, ran a workshop on succulents. The next event for the nature center will be a sale of plants grown at the center from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 18 and 19 at Country Harvest, 572 Delaware Ave., Palmerton.
