Baby Boomers renovated, ready to serve

Pictures of Frank Sinatra, Muhammad Ali, Ronald Reagan, The Fonz and Marilyn Monroe line the walls and menu of Baby Boomers in Albrightsville.

Joe Marino, a baby boomer himself, originally opened the restaurant in 2022 with a newly renovated grand reopening held on March 27.

The cozy, comfortable and bright restaurant now seats 30 people.

Everything was replaced including tables, chairs and the kitchen.

Marino went to the Culinary Institute of America and opened “Boomers” because, “I want to give people what they can’t get with quality and a decent price.”

He’s been cooking for 40 years and has owned everything from pancake houses, pizza places to fine Italian cuisine in New York.

Marino noted that his cooking style is from Northern Italy, using only Sam Marzano products. All sauces are made in house. Everything is made to order.

Fresh breads from New York are received every day. Steak and seafood comes in daily from Philadelphia. Steaks are cut at the restaurant.

For a unique breakfast experience try the cheesecake pancakes with blueberry, strawberry or apple glaze or shrimp and lobster frittata with Gruyère cheese.

Daily lunch specials for $15 include the “Bonnie and Clyde” (pastrami and turkey with Swiss on grilled rye) with a side of coleslaw, macaroni or potato salad or soup and a drink.

Dinners include shrimp scampi pasta and rigatoni a la vodka. Marino’s favorite is the “Chicken Sinatra,” which he described as “A real nice dish, fresh eggplant, fresh mozzarella, fresh white sauce.”

All dishes are made to order with fresh ingredients.

Homemade desserts include cheesecake, strawberry shortcake and lemon pound cake. Danish and muffins are available from a New York bakery as well.

Patricia Lorelli, Towamensing Trails, comes to Boomers because,” The food is delicious, the price is right and the people are wonderful.”

When asked her favorite thing on the menu she responded “steak, fish, chicken and the desserts of cheesecake and cannolis.”

Marino said that he has many repeat customers. There are also many visitors who stop by the restaurant and become repeat customers.

He changes the menu about four times a year to keep things interesting.
