State police report DUI incidents

Police reported on the following DUI incidents:

• A 20-year-old Brodheadsville man is facing charges of driving under the influence of drugs after a motor vehicle crash at 1:14 a.m. Nov. 3 at the intersection of Weir Lake and Doney roads in Chestnuthill Township.

State police at the Lehighton barracks said the investigation led police to suspect the driver of the 2014 Honda Accord to be under the influence of marijuana.

The charges are pending the results of laboratory tests administered to the driver. Police did not identify the driver.

• An Effort man is facing charges following an incident at 8:50 p.m. Sunday. Troopers attempted to make a traffic stop along Birch Drive and Oak Terrance in Polk Township, Monroe County, but the driver refused to stop. The operator accelerated and attempted to elude police. He then turned into a private driveway where he was taken into custody.

The driver, identified as Aaron Peters, 54, of Effort, was charged with driving under the influence, fleeing or attempting to elude police and various other traffic violations.

• A traffic stop made by state police at Lehighton at 11:53 p.m. Nov. 2 at the intersection of Stone Ridge Road and Fuzzy Lane in Lower Towamensing Township resulted in the driver facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Police said the stop was initiated for a motor code violation, and police suspected the driver to be under the influence of alcohol. The charges are pending the results of laboratory tests administered to the driver. The driver’s name was not released.
