State police investigating criminal mischief incident

State police at the Stroudsburg barracks are investigating a criminal mischief incident which was reported by a Martz bus employee at the Delaware Water Gap bus terminal in Delaware borough, Monroe Township.

The employee observed a vehicle in the parking lot with the front driver side window and rear driver side window smashed/cracked. The owner of the vehicle, a 56-year-old Effort man, was not on scene. The vehicle is a 2002 Toyocar van.

Police were able to obtain the registered owner’s information and interviewed him over the phone, at which time he told police the damage to his van occurred between 8 p.m. Feb. 25 and 3:15 a.m. Feb. 26 at his residence. The damage appeared to be caused by a BB gun. He was unable to provide police with any information as to who would have committed the criminal mischief.

Troopers believe the incident is possibly connected to two other damaged vehicles reported on Feb. 26.

If anyone has any information regarding this incident, they are asked to contact Trooper Wychock at PSP Stroudsburg or Trooper Waznak at PSP Fern Ridge.
