A New Ringgold man is headed to state prison on charges of stalking and terroristic threats in a decision by Judge Charles Miller on Oct. 9.

Darrel G. Schaeffer

, 42, was sentenced to one to two years on the stalking charge, and six to 24 months for terroristic threats, to run concurrently. He was arrested Dec. 25, 2018, by Pennsylvania State Police in Schuylkill Haven.

Schaeffer was also arrested by state police on Feb. 5 on charges of fleeing or attempting to elude, DUI/controlled substance, and driving while operator privileges are suspended or revoked. Miller sentenced him to six to 24 months on those charges, to run concurrently. He must also pay fines and costs totaling $2,600 and will undergo a 12-month license suspension.

In a decision by President Judge William E. Baldwin on Oct. 7, a Lehighton man was accepted into the state intermediate punishment program.

Troy M. Fairchild

, 46, was arrested by Tamaqua Police on May 31, 2018, on charges of delivery of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver, criminal conspiracy and possession of controlled substances. Fairchild will be incarcerated in a state prison for seven months, followed by four months in an alcohol/drug therapeutic community, two months in a community-based program, six months of outpatient alcohol and drug therapy, and eight months of supervision.

In a decision by Baldwin on Oct. 14, a Tamaqua man received a county prison term.

Nathan Z. Zeigler

, 30, was arrested by Rush Township Police on July 19, 2017, on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Zeigler was sentenced to time served to 12 months for possession of a controlled substance, and 12 months on probation on possession of drug paraphernalia. Since he had already served the minimum sentenced, he was immediately paroled.
