Police investigate thefts

Police report on the following theft incidents:

• Someone picked up a wallet left in a store by an Orefield man and used his debit card to charge $686 on it, police said.

The 67-year-old victim reported he forgot his wallet inside a store in Lowhill Township.

State police at the Fogelsville barracks said four theft transactions occurred at 12:10 a.m. Sept. 12.

• State police at Fern Ridge are investigating a retail theft incident in which over $900 in items were taken.

Troopers said on Sept. 29 about 12:08 p.m. they responded to the Weis Market in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County, for a theft report. Troopers said two unidentified people entered the store and stole multiple over-the-counter drugs and beauty items with a total value of $918.61. They fled in an older model black Mercedes SUV.

Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call troopers at 570-646-2271.

• State police at Fern Ridge are investigating a access device fraud case reported to them by a Monroe County resident.

Troopers said the victim, from Hamilton Township, related that multiple purchases were charged to his credit card without his knowledge or approval. He said a rental truck through Penske Trucks was rented in his name in Upper Chester and not immediately returned. He also said purchases were made in the Downingtown area and at various places in New Jersey and Delaware.

The investigation is continuing.

• A 43-year-old New Tripoli woman is the victim of an identity theft case. Someone used her identity to open a credit card account.

State police at the Fogelsville barracks said it was reported to them at 5:45 p.m. Oct. 8.

Police said someone opened a Victoria’s Secret account using the identity of the woman, who lives along Lincoln Court in Lynn Township, and then spent approximately $959 at a Victoria’s Secret store in California using that account.
