The Northern Lehigh Writers’ Group meets the second and fourth Thursday of each month at 1 p.m. to discuss subjects related to the craft of writing and to conduct critique work sessions.

They are a serious-minded group looking to share their work with each other and move toward publication.

Each week a writer is given the opportunity to submit a work of fiction or nonfiction to be critiqued at the next meeting. They stress that the reviews must be pointed and provide the writer with both positive and constructive criticism. The objective is to deliver value and encourage the author to move forward with his or her work.

The group also discusses topics as complex as point of view and how to plow through a first draft to simpler things, but of no less importance, such as where to find ideas or which books are valuable tools to a writer.
