Northern Lehigh School Board, on an 8-0 vote, with Director Mathias Green absent, approved the following items last week:

• The resignation of Janice Herzog from her position as emotional support paraprofessional at the middle school, effective Aug. 29.• The resignation of Connie Zellner from her position as Slatington Elementary cook's helper, effective Aug. 30.• Dylan Hofmann as a half-time family consumer science teacher at the middle school, at a salary of $23,438, effective Aug. 22. He will replace Sue Bowser, who retired.• Jenna Hoffert as high school Spanish teacher, at a salary of $56,800, effective Aug. 22. She replaces Ashlie Eckert, who resigned.• Shelby Bailey as a middle school English teacher at a salary of $46,875, effective Aug. 23, with a termination date upon the return of full-time teacher.• Sarah Fink as Slatington Elementary School fifth-grade teacher, replacing a teacher on family medical leave, at a salary of $46,875, effective as ofSept. 12, with a termination date on Nov. 2.• Christina Oertner as Slatington Elementary School fourth-grade teacher, at a salary of $46,875, effective as ofSept. 12, with a termination date of Jan. 30. She replaces a teacher on family medical leave.• Scott Valentine, social studies, midlevel science; Lori King, elementary; and Christina Oertner, elementary PK-4, as substitute teachers for the 2016-17 school year.• Tami Herman, Janice Herzog, Amanda Trelease and Patricia Bortz as substitute secretaries/aides for the 2016-17 school year.• Tami Herman and Amanda Trelease as substitute cafeteria workers for the 2016-17 school year.• Lori Vernon as substitute custodian for the 2016-17 school year.• Shelby Bailey, Sarah Fink, Michelle McCormick and Stephen Reimert as districtwide permanent substitute teachers for the 2016-17 school year. They will be paid a daily per diem rate of $120 and will receive district health benefits according to the Affordable Care Act regulations, with co-payment amounts equivalent to that of district personnel.• Margaret Blose, Patricia Bollinger, Susan Bowser, Andrea Fella, Dixie Gross, Janet McKelvey, Joanne Perich, Gina Serfass, JoAnne Sipos, Erica Szwast, Karen Haberen, Sharon Karpiszin, Nancy Wagner and Sheila White as unpaid volunteer aides in the Peters and/or Slatington Elementary schools, and middle school, for the 2016-17 school year.• Kristina Quay as an unpaid volunteer to assist in the technology department.• The administrative transfer of Vicky Papay from paraprofessional at Peters Elementary School to PCA for a student at Peters Elementary School, with no change in salary, effectiveSept. 13.• That teacher Sara Shimer has completed the requirements for a salary increase for the 2016-17 school year.
