Lehighton state police report incidents

State police at Lehighton report the following incidents:

• Police reported investigating an assault incident at 9:47 p.m. Tuesday along Behrens Road in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County.

Troopers said a 27-year-old woman from Jim Thorpe was struck by a suspect, who was then cited for harassment. Troopers did not name the suspect.

• Police said a vehicle was stopped at 11:47 a.m. on April 24 along Court Street and Interchange Road in Franklin Township for a traffic violation.

Upon approaching the vehicle the trooper detected the odor of marijuana. A small amount of marijuana was found and seized.

Charges will be filed against the driver, identified as a 42-year-old woman from Lansford, who troopers declined to name.

• On May 2 at 1:50 p.m. a vehicle stop was made along Interchange Road in Polk Township, Monroe County. The driver was identified as Christian Dearce, 29, of Reading. He showed signs of impairment and being under the influence of a controlled substance. He was placed under arrest for DUI but refused to submit to a blood test. Charges were filed.

• On Saturday at 5:30 p.m. troopers responded to a reported domestic at a residence along Bridge Street in Weissport. Officers met with a 35-year-old woman and a 50-year-old man. As a result of an investigation harassment charges were filed. Police declined to name the people involved or who was charged.

• On Saturday at 1 p.m. a 20-year-old man from Lehighton was stopped at Fairyland Road and Church Street in Franklin Township for suspected driving under the influence of a controlled substance. The suspect had suspected methamphetamine and other drug paraphernalia. Troopers, who decline to identify the suspect, said charges will be filed pending laboratory results.
