Lehighton state police report incidents

State police at Lehighton report the following incidents:

• Police are investigating an attempted burglary at a Carbon County residence.

Troopers said they were dispatched to a residence along Summer Mountain Road in Towamensing Township at 2:54 p.m. on Sept. 18. The resident reported an attempted break-in. The investigation is continuing.

• Police are investigating a burglary at a Carbon County site.

Troopers said the break-in occurred along Short Road in Penn Forest Township. A 55-year-old man from Denver, Lancaster County, reported a substructure on his property had been broken into and a mini-refrigerator, microwave and DeWalt power tools were taken. Also a sliding-glass door was damaged. Total estimated value of the missing items was set at $500 and $600 in damages to the door. The incident occurred sometime between Sept. 7 and 22.

Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call troopers at 610-681-1850.

• A Carbon County man is facing charges following a domestic incident.

Troopers responded to a residence along Main Road in Franklin Township about 4:58 p.m. on Sept. 2 for a domestic incident. As a result troopers said Scott Nothstein, 48, of Lehighton, was charged with harassment - physical contact. The victim is a 36-year-old woman, troopers said.

•Troopers said they responded to a area along East Lizard Creek Road in East Penn Township at 8:10 p.m. Sept. 10 for a report of a man jumping on the car of a 63-year-old woman from Lehighton and attempting to keep her from leaving.

Thomas Weiss, 51, of Lehighton, was cited for harassment.
