LCCC helping students improve their English

Lehigh Carbon Community College is offering courses to help students improve their English speaking skills. The following English as a Second Language classes are held at LCCC’s Donley Center on Hamilton Street in Allentown.

All levels offer a daytime class held from 9 a.m. to noon or an evening course from 6 to 9 p.m. The fee for each course is $168.

ESL 1 course teaches beginner and low intermediate students. Classes are held Tuesdays and Thursdays on the following dates: Jan. 15 through Feb. 28; March 5 through April 18; and April 30 through June 13.

A second-level course, ESL 2, is for high-intermediate to advanced ESL students. The following classes are held Mondays and Wednesdays, Jan. 14 through Feb. 27; March 4 through April 17; and April 29 through June 12.

In addition, individuals can improve speaking for shopping, visiting the doctor, using the telephone or to communicate with co-workers and supervisors. Speaking Skills/ESL will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Feb. 2 through May 4 for a fee of $168.
