State police at Lehighton are investigating two hit-and-run crashes.

• On Dec. 30 around 11:45 a.m., a hit-and-run occurred along Fireline Road near Sand Quarry Road in Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County. A vehicle left the road and struck a utility police. The driver then fled the scene. Volunteers from the Aquashicola Fire Company assisted at the scene.

• On Saturday along Laurel Lane in Towamensing Township, Carbon County, another hit-and-run occurred. Troopers said a vehicle was operated too fast for conditions when the driver crossed the double yellow line and struck a fence along the berm. After impact the driver fled the scene. The incident was reported at 8:13 a.m.
