FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP SUPERVISORS

Franklin Township supervisors recently took the following action:

• Awarded the bid for the rehabilitation of Pump Station 2 (State Road) to PSI Pumping Solutions Inc., for the base bid for all piping work of $33,900, and alternate coating of the internal walls of the wet well of $10,000, for a total of $43,900. Work will entail replacing the corrugated piping with stainless steel pipe in the wet well; replacing various flanges; replacing the current ladder with a stainless steel ladder; and installing all new checks and ball valves.

• Approved the Mortgage Satisfaction Piece regarding Lot 1B — Snyder’s Christmas tree Hill Estates.

• Announced that a CD was purchased through the Jim Thorpe Neighborhood Bank at a net rate of 2.39% in the amount of $200,000.

• Granted conditional approval of the Marion L. Jr. & Sandra G. Walker final lot line adjustment.

• Supervisors met with Franklin Township Little League Association regarding improvements to Christman Ballfield.

• The next E-Cycling Event will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 26. More information can be found on the township’s website, or by calling the township administrative office.

• Fire police will assist with traffic control for Lehighton’s annual Halloween parade at 4 p.m. Oct. 19. The rain date is 2 p.m. Oct. 20. They will also assist Lehighton for the Veterans Day parade at 2 p.m. Nov. 10, and Franklin Township Lion’s Club Picnic in the Park from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 15.

• Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Company granted permission to participate in the Coaldale Parade on Sept. 7; Lehighton Halloween Parade on Oct. 20, rain date Oct. 21; and Lehighton Veterans Day Parade on Nov. 10.
