Forecast: Freezing rain tonight, Friday morning

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory in effect from 4-11 p.m. Thursday.

Freezing rain is expected with ice accumulations from a light glaze up to a few hundredths of an inch.

Ice will result in slippery conditions on sidewalks, roads and bridges. Roads may hold some residual heat from the recent warm weather, but bridges and overpasses will be more vulnerable to icing.

Pleasant Valley School District announced it is dismissing students two hours early on Thursday and the afternoon kindergarten session is canceled
