The Carbon County Commissioners acted on the following items during their meeting on Thursday:

• Approved the purchase of a Onan 25kw generator with automatic transfer switch from Tower Services Unlimited in Harrisburg for the Big Boulder tower site new shelter at a cost of $19,134, plus additional cost of $5,815 for a concrete pad.

• Approved a proposal with W.B. Mason Company Inc. for the sale and delivery of office supplies to all county offices at an estimated cost of $51,327.71 a year. The annual sales amount is based on the estimated quantities purchased.

Personnel

• Hire: Stephanie Andre and Emily J. Greenawalt, both of Jim Thorpe; and Christine M. Guerrera of Palmerton, county caseworkers I, Children and Youth Services, all effective May 6; and Dominic D. DeMarco of Lansford, seasonal park maintenance, effective April 22.

• Changes of status: Tina M. Fink of Lehighton, from part-time clerk, archives, to live scan operator/corrections clerk, effective April 22; Kaylyn A. Ahner of Andreas, from part-time corrections officer/Teamsters, to corrections officer, effective April 22; and James B.J. Taschler of Lehighton, from part-time corrections officer, to part-time corrections officer/Teamsters, effective April 22.
