Allysa Mary Vavra of Coaldale was awarded a Master of Science degree in biomedical sciences from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine at its graduate programs commencement ceremony on July 26.

The ceremony was held at the Kimmel Center for Performing in Philadelphia.

Vavra is the daughter of Dennis and Geri Vavra and the sister of Samantha, Karoline and Anthony Vavra of Coaldale.

She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology at Indiana University Bloomington in 2013 and will be continuing her education at Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine.
