Firefighters called back to Jim Thorpe scene

Firefighters were dispatched again to a working fire at 44 Coal St. in Jim Thorpe. The fire was discovered just after 10:30 a.m. Friday in the kitchen area.

Fire companies from Jim Thorpe, Nesquehoning and Lehighton were dispatched the scene. Jim Thorpe police are investigating the incident.

The fire first broke out Thursday afternoon, displacing three people from the multi-unit home.

Borough fire Chief Vince Yaich said firefighters were dispatched at 2 p.m. for a working dwelling fire at 44-46 Coal St.

Yaich said that upon arrival, firefighters encountered heavy fire coming out of the rear of 44 that extended into 46.

A GoFundMe was started for the Gasker family. As of this morning, the $5,000 goal that was set had already been eclipsed as $5,085 had been raised.
