Schuylkill County commissioners appointed Paul Datte as assistant county solicitor part time on Wednesday.

He replaces Judge Chris Hobbs who had been an assistant solicitor with the office prior to being sworn in.

Commissioner Barron Hetherington asked Datte to fill the role, because he knows of his experience and he was a solicitor for past commissioners.

Datte will fill in as needed, Hetherington said. He is transferring from the solicitor’s office. His salary is $38,683.

Alvin Marshall is still the solicitor. Glenn Roth is first assistant solicitor.

In other news, attorney Sudhir Patel was appointed as solicitor for the controller’s office with the transfer of Datte. His pay is $7,985 effective Jan. 10.
