Faith Alive Church

Faith Alive Church, 678 Pine St., Palmerton (Bowmanstown), is holding worship on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. This will be a special service with “Pennsylvania Adult and Teen Challenge.” Please plan to attend to hear their awesome choir and special speaker and inspirational testimonies from men who have turned their lives around with the help of this faith-centered organization. The options of worshipping remain the same: Worship in the sanctuary, must wear a mask, have temperature check, and social distancing required; worship in Leah’s Room with same rules as sanctuary; you may worship in your vehicle in the parking lot and tune to 103.4; or you may join on Facebook Live.

Every Wednesday at 7 p.m. is “Prayer & Praise” with the same option of worshipping.

ABC Food Pantry is still serving the community. If you or anyone you know has a need from the pantry, please call Bev Hargreaves at 610-826-5932.

Palmerton Library

September is National Library Sign Up Month. Your Lehigh Carbon Library Cooperative card gives you access to the collections of 11 libraries, almost 500,000 materials! Please stop by or call the Palmerton Area Library at 610-826-3424 to update your library account.

Due to COVID-19, no fines will be charged through the end of 2020. They ask that you return items as close to the due date as possible. Checkout limits are 15 books and five DVDs on an adult account and five books and no DVDs on a kids account.

You can come in the library any time they are open to browse without an appointment. Hours are: Monday and Tuesday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday through Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Masks are required.

Kids for the Community

Reminder of the Hero’s Day to be held at the Palmerton Memorial Park grove on Saturday at 2 p.m. Bring your kids or be a kid yourself and meet the heroes of our community such as police officers, firefighters, EMTs and some veterans.

Also remember the Kids for the Community group is still collecting tissues until the end of the month. They may be dropped off at 783 W. Princeton Ave. A box will be on the porch for the donations.

BARC

In conjunction with the Bowmanstown area community yard sale on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Bowmanstown Area Residents Connected will be selling tickets to win a bench. It is on display at 509 White St. They will also be selling Gertrude Hawk candy bars as well at several locations throughout the town.

Emmanuel UCC

Emmanuel United Church of Christ, 509 Hamilton St., Bowmanstown, will have a hot dog stand on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. during the community yard sale. They will also be selling tickets for their fall bazaar.

On Sunday, the fall bazaar will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be theme baskets, gift cards and a variety of items. There will be a bake sale and homemade soup by the bowl or quart. The kitchen will be open with outdoor seating. Masks are required for indoors.

The church holds worship on Sundays at 9 a.m. in the church yard, weather permitting. In case of inclement weather, the service is held indoors.

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton will hold Sunday worship in the sanctuary at 10:15 a.m. Due to limited seating, please call the church office at 610-826-2524 if you plan to attend. The service is also available on Zoom.
