A basic kayaking course will be available at Tuscarora State Park in Barnesville, Schuylkill County. A park naturalist will conduct the program.

Kayaks, paddles and personal flotation devices will be provided. Maximum weight capacity is 275 pounds. Registration is required by signing up at the park office prior to the event via phone at 570-467-2506 or in person. Meet at the boat rental building at Tuscarora. Each child must be accompanied by an adult and be 12 years of age or older.

Class dates and times are: July 4, 10:30 a.m.; July 14, 1:30 p.m.; July 27, 1:30 p.m.; Aug. 4, 9:30 a.m.; Aug. 8, 10:30 p.m.; and Sept. 2, 1:30 p.m.

All classes are posted on the park website, dcnr.state.pa.us, under the calendar of events for the park. People need only to sign up for one class.
