Carbon County judges conducted parole/probation revocation hearings recently.

The hearings are held on petitions filed by the adult probation office to revoke the parole or probation of defendants for violating the conditions of their release.Those who had hearings included:Francis Filoreto, 28, of Sugarloaf, Luzerne County, had his probation revoked on a charge of theft from a motor vehicle on petition filed by probation officer Joseph J. Berke for violating condition that he was arrested by state police at Hazleton and charged with retail theft, access device fraud, theft by deception, receiving stolen property, sale or illegal use of certain solvents, and disorderly conduct.Judge Joseph J. Matika resentenced him to serve three to six months in the county prison effective Dec. 25, 2013.Christopher Miller, 25, of Lansford, had his parole revoked on a charge of furnishing liquor to a minor on petition filed by probation officer Clifford Eckhart. He also had his probation revoked on charges of theft by unlawful taking, and unsworn falsification, for violating conditions of testing positive for a controlled substance-marijuana, and not completing drug and alcohol treatment.Judge Steven R. Serfass resentenced him to serve 60 to 120 days in prison on the theft and related counts and 90 days back time on the furnishing charge, with the terms running concurrently. He was given credit for 30 days already spent in jail on the charges.Luis Colon, 24, of Lansford, had his parole revoked on charges of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct on petition filed by Eckhart for violating conditions of failing to report to the probation office as directed, testing positive for marijuana, and failure to submit to scheduled drug screens.Serfass resentenced him to serve 90 days back time in the county prison. He received credit for 43 days spent in jail on the charges.Jeremy Accardi, 28, of Lansford, had his probation revoked on a charge of false reports to law enforcement on petition filed by Eckhart for violating condition that he was arrested for simple assault.Serfass resentenced him to serve 90 days to one year in prison with credit for 54 days.Tameke Huggins, 20, of Allentown, had his probation revoked on petition filed by Berke on a charge of simple assault for violating conditions of being arrested for simple assault by Allentown police, engaged in assaultive behavior, delinquent on his court costs, failed to complete anger management, and failed to complete drug and alcohol treatment.Serfass resentenced him to serve four to 12 months in the county prison effective Oct. 5, 2013.Matthew Mark, 23, of Lehighton, had his probation revoked on petition filed by probation officer Jillian C. McGinley, on a charge of retail theft, for violating conditions of being arrested on Oct. 25, 2013, by Allentown police for simple possession and criminal conspiracy-simple possession, testing positive for opiates on Sept. 23 and Oct. 7, 2013, and had in his possession heroin.Serfass resentenced him to serve six to 12 months in the county prison effective Oct. 26, 2013.Eugene Sillers, 25, of Lehighton, had his parole revoked on petition filed by McGinley on a charge of burglary, for violating conditions by overdosing on heroin on Nov. 4, 2013. The condition violated he had in his possession heroin.Matika resentenced him to serve six months in the county prison effective Nov. 7, 2013.
