April Pelzer, 45, of Philadelphia, has been arrested by state police at the Frackville barracks on a charge of possession of a small amount of marijuana.

Police said the arrest was made after police discovered her to be in possession of two small plastic baggies containing suspected marijuana after prison guards at the SCI Mahanoy facility, Mahanoy Township, performed a search of a vehicle in which she was a passenger. Police were assisted by a K-9 team.The incident happened at 12:52 p.m. Sept. 9.
