Arrests reported

State police at Lehighton reported on the following arrests made by troopers.

Troopers said David Anthony Jany, 29, of Northampton, is facing a charge of retail theft for an incident at the Country Junction Store, located at 6565 Interchange Road (SR209), in Towamensing Township, Carbon County.

Troopers responded to the store about 6:30 p.m. on June 4 for a reported theft. Troopers allege that Jany attempted to steal a total of 48 items from the store totaling $2,673.94 in value. He was arraigned before a district judge and committed to the county prison in Nesquehoning in lieu of $25,000 straight cash bail.

Troopers said a 17-year-old male juvenile is facing a charge of simple assault for an incident on June 6 about 11:10 a.m. at 107 Farmhill Road, in Eldred Township, Monroe County. He is accused of physically assaulting his two foster parents inside the home. Troopers listed the victims as a 56-year-old male and 51-year-old female.

Troopers reported a vehicle stop Friday, June 7, about 8:38 p.m. along SR903 at Old Stage Road, in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County, led to the arrest of a passenger in the vehicle.

Troopers said Jake Bowen, 30, of Jim Thorpe, was found to be in possession of a controlled substance without a prescription.

Troopers said Jennifer Lynn Bloyer, of Lake Harmony, was cited for disorderly conduct following an incident along SR903 at Behrens Road, in Penn Forest Township, about 9:58 p.m. on Saturday. A further investigation revealed Bloyer had an active warrant for her arrest issued out of Carbon County court. She was taken into custody and placed in the county prison on the warrant.

Bad check charges are pending against Ulises J. Medina, 57, of East Stroudsburg. She allegedly issued a check to Rachel Ann Kroboth, 20, of Lehighton, on Sept. 14, that was returned for insufficient funds.
