Independence Day DUI arrests

Two drivers were cited for driving under the influence (DUI) following two separate incidents on Independence Day, July 4.

State police at Lehighton said Ojo Kawame Duke, 31, of Tobyhanna, was stopped about 4:05 p.m. along SR33 in Hamilton Township, Monroe County, for a traffic violation. A further investigation determined that he was operating his vehicle under the influence of a controlled substance. Charges will be filed.At 10:55 p.m. troopers stopped Mujevic Sadrija, 59, of North Whitehall Township, Lehigh County, along Interchange Road (SR209), in Towamensing Township, Carbon County, for a traffic violation. He was found to be under the influence and was arrested for suspicion of DUI. Charges will be filed.
