Carbon Conservation District announces annual poster contest

Published January 15. 2013 05:02PM

The Carbon County Conservation District announced its annual poster contest, open to any student in the county, with five grade categories of K-1, two to three, four to six, seven to nine, and 10 to 12. This year's poster contest theme is from NACD Stewardship Week.

The contest offers young people an opportunity to express their views on natural resource issues through the medium of art. Students' submissions are judged in categories according to creativity, simplicity, clarity of message and quality in relation to grade level.

Prizes are awarded locally, with the opportunity for the winning posters to advance to the state and national levels. The contest is co-sponsored by the Pennsylvania Association of Conservation Districts and the National Association of Conservation Districts.

Entries must be received at the county district office, at 5664 Interchange Rd., Lehighton, by 4 p.m. Thursday, March 14.

For more information contact your student's local school or the district office at (610) 377-4894.
