AmericanCancer Society plans auction and bake sale

The annual Carbon-Tamaqua Unit of the American Cancer Society Telethon Committee will hold a Chinese auction on Sunday, March 24 beginning at noon at Lakeside Ballroom, Route 54, Barnesville. There will be chances to win selective raffle prizes, 50/50 drawings, great food, fresh baked goods and candy, Polka Joe will perform from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and entertainment by Cody Scott.

The auction drawing begins at 3 p.m. Some of the top prizes on the specially purchased "white ticket" include a Dell laptop computer, gift certificate for fuel oil, $1,500 cash prize, NASCAR Sprint Cup tickets, Apple ipad2 with Wi-Fi, gas gift card, Hershey Lodge stay, Kindle Fire, trampoline, muzzleloader, 32" HD TV, and area restaurant gift certificate packs. Take chances on hundreds of other items.

Proceeds will be presented at the Annual ACS Telethon that airs April 6-7 at Penn's Peak and will broadcast live on BRC TV-13 and Service Electric cable TV.

The public is invited to attend the telethon and enjoy all of the live entertainment. Tickets are on sale throughout the area.
