Joseph Michael Evans, 46, of Orwigsburg, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after a one-vehicle accident at 10:10 p.m. Feb. 1 on Ridge Road in North Manheim Township.

State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks said he sustained head, chest and leg injuries in the crash and was flown in the MedEvac 7 helicopter to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township..Police said he was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Camaro westbound on Ridge Road when he lost control of the vehicle while descending a hill. The vehicle exited the roadway where its undercarriage impacted a culvert and the passenger's side of the vehicle struck two trees north of the roadway. police said the Camaro spun about 90 degrees clockwise and came to rest facing north in the eastbound lane of travel.Police said Evans exhibited signs of being under the influence of alcohol. the charges are pending the results of blood tests that were administered to him.The vehicle sustained disabling damages and was towed from the scene.
