Remembering PV School Board member

Published August 09. 2013 05:03PM

The Panther Valley School Board on Thursday opened its public meeting with a moment of silence for board member Richard Zabroski, who died Sunday in a motor vehicle accident in Nesquehoning. The mood was somber throughout the meeting, with Zabroski's chair at the board table draped with a Panther Valley afghan. Zabroski, a Panther Valley graduate who served as a volunteer football coach, was known for his school spirit. He was sworn in on Jan. 12, 2012 afer being appointed to serve the time remaining on the term of Anthony Pondish, who had resigned the previous October. The board will likely appoint a replacement when it meets at 7 p.m. Aug. 22.
