Lions Club to meet

The Nesquehoning Lions Club will meet on Tuesday, Dec. 4 at 6:30 p.m. at Lengyel's. The district governor will be visiting and all Lions are encouraged to attend.

Woman's club dinner

The Nesquehoning Woman's Club will hold its Christmas dinner at DiMaggio's Restaurant in Tamaqua on Monday, Dec. 3 at 6:30 p.m. Dinner will be served at 7 p.m.

A brief meeting will be conducted by President Carol Zickler.


First Congregational Church

Morning Worship will be held at First Congregational Church, Coaldale, at 9 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 2. Sunday School for all ages will follow at 10 a.m.

Services and activities for the next week are as follows:

The nursing home ministry group will visit St. Luke's Miners, Coaldale, at 11 a.m. and MapleShade, Nesquehoning, at 1:30 p.m., both on Wednesday, Dec. 5.

Also on Dec. 5, Kids Klub and Bible Study will both be held at 6 p.m., with choir rehearsal at 7 p.m.

On Sunday, Dec. 9, Morning Worship will be conducted at 9 a.m. followed by Sunday School at 10 a.m.

The church board will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10.

The Children's and Youth Christmas program will be held during Morning Worship at 9 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 16.

Those who contributed food and money as Harvest Home gifts for the needy were thanked. Also thanked were donors to the Samaritan's Purse Project. The church sent 38 boxes of toys to children around the world.
