Students and staff of the Tamaqua Area School High School held their annual Veterans and Flag Raising Ceremony Friday morning in the front of the Senior High School in celebration of Veterans Day.

Besides various speakers, the Tamaqua Area High School Jazz Chorale sang patriotic songs, while students read a roll call of area veterans. Veterans groups on hand for the service were the Schuylkill Carbon Marine Corps League Detachment 626 and Tamaqua American Legion C.H. Berry Post 173.

The service also consisted of a gun salute and the playing of "Taps" by members of the Legion. Veterans were treated to a morning brunch by the staff following the event.
