@Breif.Head:Tigers, Bears make

D-11 soccer playoffs

Nineteen teams qualified for the District 11 soccer playoffs that will get underway today with three play-in games. Teams will compete in just one class this season.

Northwestern and Pleasant Valley are the two area teams that qualified for districts. The Tigers earned the No. 4 seed and will host Saucon Valley on Wednesday at 4 p.m. in a first round round game. The Bears are the No. 6 seed and will host No. 11 seed Notre Dame of Green Pond on Wednesday at 3 p.m in a first round game.

Quarterfinal round games will be played on Friday at the home field of the higher seeded team. Semifinals will be Tuesday, May 22 at Whitehall. The championship and consolation games will be Thursday, May 24 at Whitehall.

This will be the final D-11 and PIAA spring soccer tournament. Beginning next school year, girls soccer will be moved to the fall.
