Published May 07. 2012 05:02PM

A Monroe County man is facing criminal counts.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said Colby Andrews, 29, of Pocono Summit, went to the United Cash Checking business in Mount Pocono and attempted to cash a $1,500 fraudulent check. When Andrews was told the check was fraudulent he became disorderly and left the business.

Andrews then went to the United Cash Checking in East Stroudsburg and attempted to cash the same check but was refused.

On Tuesday police charged him with forgery and criminal attempt to commit theft by unlawful taking. Andrews is currently in the county prison in Snydersville on a probation violation and other charges filed by Pocono Regional police.
