State police at Schuylkill Haven reported on three crashes, including a hit and run, that occurred on Schuylkill County roadways.

A crash occurred about 9:40 p.m. Monday, Jan. 16, along Brookside Drive in Pine Grove Township. Troopers said Timothy R. Nagle, 46, of Pine Grove, was driving a 1995 Jeep Cherokee eastbound when the vehicle left the road on the right side due to icy conditions. The Jeep struck a tree with the right front portion and then spun clockwise 180-degrees.

At this pont troopers said Nagle failed to brake and the vehicle continued to accelerate traveling west where it struck a utility pole with the front end. The Jeep then traveled into a field where it came to rest.

Nagle was not injured.

The second crash occurred about 3:10 a.m. on Monday along SR895 in West Brunswick Township. Troopers said a 17-year-old male from Mohnton, Berks County, was driving a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee westbound when he fell asleep at the wheel. The Jeep left the road and traveled about 150 feet before striking a sign post owned by Halabura Farms. After impact with the sign the car continued west for another 180-feet before striking a group of small trees.

The teen was not injured but the Jeep had to be towed from the scene. The teen was cited for multiple motor vehicle code violations, troopers said.

The hit and run occurred on Sunday, Jan. 15, between 5:30 and 7 p.m., in an alley to the rear of 329 Wiconisco Ave., in Tower City. Troopers said a 2010 Ford F150 pickup truck was parked unattended when struck on the passenger side by another vehicle whose driver fled the scene. Damages were termed minor to the Ford.
