State police at the Lehighton barracks were summoned at 11:32 a.m. Aug. 27 to investigate a hit-and-run accident on State Route 115 in Ross Township, Monroe County.

Police said a vehicle left the scene of the crash after striking a 1999 Nissan Sentra driven by Maureen K. Sandt, 63, of Saylorsburg. She was uninjured.

Police said Sandt was northbound on the route when she slowed to turn left onto Anchorage Road, at which time the unknown vehicle, which was also northbound, tried to pass on the left and in doing so struck the front driver's side of Sandt's car with its front passenger side.

After the impact, the unidentified vehicle left the scene by speeding northbound on Rt. 115, police said.

The Sandt vehicle sustained minor damages.
