Nesquehoning citations issued

Nesquehoning police reported on numerous citations issued by officers.

From July 14-29, officers issued four speeding, expired inspection (three), red light violation, no passing zone, and no protective eye equipment-motorcycle citations.

The speeding citations involved speeds of 43 in a 25, 70 in a 55, and 56 and 57 in a 40 zone. The areas included 300 block of E. and W. Catawissa St., state routes 209 and 93, and Mermon Avenue.

Police also reported from July 16-21, multiple warnings were given for seat belt infractions, speeding and loose or sifting loads on state routes 54, 209 and 93.

On SR54 there were four speeding tickets issued at the "S" turn construction area with speeds of 48, 47 and 45 in the 30 zone.

Other speeding tickets were issued for 55 in a 40, 74 in a 55 zone; and a driving on roadways laned for traffic citation on SR93.

Police reported that Kerry Hoffman, 68 W. Center St., Nesquehoning, was arrested for driving under suspension, registration plate under suspension for insurance cancellation and required financial responsibility-or having no insurance, following a traffic stop in the 400 block of W. Catawissa St., on July 29.

Linda Bond, 57 E. Railroad St., Nesquehoning, was cited for driving under suspension and general lighting requirements at Railroad and Allen streets., on July 29.
