Legislation sponsored by Carbon County Representative Joseph Semanoff, Lehighton Republican, would stipulate that all high schools in the state be required to incorporate a course in voting methods in the curriculum. It is directed in the legislation that satisfactory completion of the course be a requirement for graduation. The course, to be designed by the State Department of Education, would include essential phases of the state election laws, including eligibility to vote, registration, primary and general elections, and rights to voters at voting places.
