Seven area people were among 39 who entered guilty pleas to criminal charges in Schuylkill County court and were sentenced by Judge Charles M. Miller as follows:

Miranda Mooney, 22, of 1560 Penn Drive, Andreas, West Penn Township, pleaded nolo contendre (no defense) to a charge of simple assault on a crisis worker at St. Luke's Miners Memorial Hospital, Coaldale, sentenced to serve 12 months on probation, and pay $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account (CJEA). On a charge of disorderly conduct was fined $100 plus costs. Mooney was cited by Coaldale Patrolman Joseph David. She was a patient in the hospital and the incident occurred in the Intensive Care Unit.Brianna Lynn Osceles, 20, of 43 Walley St., Brockton, Schuylkill Township, corruption of minors and selling or furnishing alcohol to minors, placed on probation 12 months, fined $1,000, pay $50 to CJEA, and $50 to district attorney's office. Osceles was cited by Pottsville Patrolman Joseph Krammes.Marco Baker, 25, of 211 E. Bertsch St., Apt. 3, Lansford, fleeing Rush Township Police, sentenced to serve three to 18 months in county prison with credit for 112 days, and pay $50 to CJEA. On a charge of driving while his license was suspended, fined $200 and exceeding speed limit in urban district by 17 miles, fined $25 plus $100 costs. Baker was cited by Patrolman Richard Bekesy.Robert James Macharsky Jr., 38, of 222 W. Patterson St., Lansford, resisting arrest and giving a false identification, serve two to 23 months in the county prison with credit for serving 57 days, and pay $50 to CJEA. He was cited by Rush Patrolman Brian Thompson.He also pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia and received a concurrent sentence of 12 months on probation and on a charge of driving while his license was suspended was fined $200 plus $50 costs. Rowe St., Tamaqua, simple assault, sentenced to serve three to 12 months in the county prison, pay $50 to CJEA, and make restitution of $713.32 to Tamaqua Police Department and $430.62 to Access Medical Bills.On a charge of criminal mischief to a police car was given a concurrent sentence and on a charge of disorderly conduct was fined $100. Broad St., Tamaqua, was sentenced to serve 23 months probation to run concurrent with the theft sentence, pay $50 to CJEA and make restitution of $346.75 to victim. Hosier was cited by Cpl. Ferko, 49, Oxford, driviing while license suspended-DUI related, serve 60 days in county prison, fined $500.
