State police at Fern Ridge reported investigating several crashes on Monroe County Roads.

A two-vehicle crash occurred about 8:49 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 16, along Hill Road in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County.

Troopers said Diana L. Whitney, 49, of Effort, and Florrenah H. Wentzel, 27, of Birdsboro, Berks County, were both eastbound. Wentzel slowed down to turn left into a driveway and Whitney attempted to go around her.

Wentzel then began to turn and the front of her 2009 Ford F550 Super Duty truck hit the passenger side of Whitney's 2009 Chrysler PT Cruiser. Upon impact the Cruiser spun 180 degrees and ended up in the westbound lane facing west.

Both drivers and a passenger with Whitney, Andrew T. Marcincak, 22, of Kunkletown, were all not injured.

Troopers cited Whitney for driving on roadways laned for traffic.

Troopers are probing two hit-and-runs accidents.

One occurred about 5:51 p.m. on Sept. 15 along SR115 in Barrett Township. Troopers said the 2010 Chevrolet HHR driven by Veronica Dasilva, 70, of Effort, was rear-ended by another vehicle in which the driver fled the scene. Dasilva was not injured.

The hit-and-run vehicle is a white Ford van.

The second hit-and-run occurred on Sept. 5 at 8:57 p.m. along SR209 in Chestnuthill Township. Troopers said an unknown vehicle backed into a 2008 Honda Accord at the above location. The Honda is owned by Jonni J. Sokolwski, 26, of Kunkletown. The hit-and-run vehicle is a four-door sedan, dark in color.

A crash occurred about 12:10 a.m. on Sept. 21 along Weir Lake Road in Chestnuthill Township. Troopers said Gregory J. May, 23, of Saylorsburg, was southbound in a 1993 Mazda MX-6 when he lost control. The car went onto the westbound shoulder where the front end struck a guide rail. After impact the car continued southbound where the front end struck a house on the northbound shoulder where it came to rest.

May sustained a minor injury and was transported to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, by West End ambulance.

Troopers said May is facing a driving under the influence (DUI) charge.
