Progress continues to be made on a nearly $2-million bridge reconstruction project in East Penn Township. A new bridge is being built to span the Lehigh River, connecting East Penn with Bowmanstown Borough. It will replace an 83-year-old deteriorating iron bridge. Today, razing occurred of the 895 Inn, located at the corner of Route 895 and Kittatinny Road. Route 895 is being moved to that location to coincide with the entrance to the bridge. The former hotel, once known as "Carol's Paradise," was the only building affected by the bridge construction.
