Lansford woman facing DUI count

A Lansford woman has been cited by Tamaqua police following an incident on May 28.

Officer Matt Bynon was on patrol at 3:52 a.m. when he observed a white Chevrolet Malibu being operated the wrong way on Hegarty Avenue. Bynon stopped the vehicle in the Wells Fargo Bank parking lot and identified the driver as Lisa Jean Green, 51, of 640 E. Ridge St., Lansford.

Green exhibited signs of intoxication and stumbled when getting out of the vehicle. Due to her unsteadiness, she was unable to perform a field sobriety tests then rejected several opportunities to retake the test.

Green then refused to cooperate with the officer and had to be forcibly cuffed and carried to the police cruiser. Once at the police station she refused to submit to breath and blood testing.

She was cited for driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol, resisting arrest and driving the wrong way on a one-way street.
