The award was given by the family of the late Pauline Holmberg, who became a dedicated soldier of the Salvation Army Corps at age 16 and continued to commit her entire life to the Tamaqua Salvation Army Corps, passing away at age 93.
Tamaqua Salvation Army board members, Corps soldiers and community members attended their annual appreciation dinner in the community gym of the Salvation Army to recognize employees, volunteers and local supporters who were integral in supporting the Salvation Army over recent years.
Advisory Board president Fred Bausch introduced everyone and talked concerning a number of benefits and resources the Salvation Army provides to the community. The Salvation Army timbrels group and Older and Bolder Group also performed for guests during the dinner. Major Sharon Whispell and Dina Depos, program's director, expressed their combined appreciation to all the dedicated volunteers, Corps members, supporters and community for routinely providing support to the Tamaqua Salvation Army.
