Palmerton Camera Club September activities

Members of the Palmerton Camera Club gathered in August to plan the meetings and activities for the 2010-2011 year and they came up with some exciting events.

Leading off on Thursday, Sept. 23, at 7:30 p.m. at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 5th and Lafayette, Palmerton, will be an evening of night photography in downtown Palmerton.Hopefully there will still be enough ambient glow in the sky to give a nice twilight feel to the scenes. There will be a full moon that night. Handouts with tips for nighttime photography will be available. After shooting, they will gather back at the meeting room for refreshments and conversation. As each meeting begins, there will be a mini lesson on photo editing. In September, the lesson will be on the best file format, image size, and image resolution to use for photographs on the web site. Also at each meeting there will be a table for sample images, either prints or digital files. The idea is to get informal critiques of a photographer's work.Constructive comments are a good tool for improving photographic skills. For more information about the Club, please visit their website at

www.palmertoncameraclub.squarespace.com. Or contact the Reinharts at

bcrein@ptd.net or 610-826-7285.Visitors are always welcome at the Club meetings.Coming up in October, besides the regular meeting on Oct. 28, there will be a show at the Filbert Bed & Breakfast, Danielsville. It is free and open to the public on Oct. 24, and then hawk banding on Oct. 29 for members only.
