Susanne Kane, daughter of David and Patricia Holmes of Hometown, and the late James Kane, Tamaqua, became the bride of Joseph Jeffrey Semuta, son of Joseph and Mary Alyce Semuta of Hazleton on July 2, 2010 in an outdoor ceremony at the Stroudsmoor Country Inn, Stroudsburg.

Officiating the double ring ceremony was the Rev. Bob Amundsen. A brass quintet, led by Brian Shughart, provided music for the ceremony.

Given in marriage by her mother, the bride chose Cara (Griffin) Ruggeri of Coopersburg as her matron of honor.

Bridesmaids included Maryalyce (Semuta) Saenz, of Royal Palm Beach, Fla.; Kristyn (Semuta) Anderson of Wilmington, Del.; Heather Shober of Coaldale; Jacquelyn (Willing) Hartz of Tamaqua; Hallie Seiwell of Nesquehoing; Heidi Seiwell of Nesquehoning; and Nadine Kokinda of Boyertown.

Performing the duties of best man was Darren Smith of Philadelphia.

Ushers were Ryan Smith of Wilkes-Barre; Zack Maurer of Nesquehoning; Emil Gennaro of Sugarloaf; Erik Gennaro of Conshohocken, Pa.; John Mardyniak of Middletown, N.Y.; Dave Barasha of Hazleton; and Heath Pursell of Conyngham.

Ryan Saenz of Royal Palm Beach, Fla., was the ring bearer.

Following the ceremony, the couple welcomed family and friends to a reception at the Stroudsmoor Country Inn, before leaving for a honeymoon trip to Sandals Negril in Negril, Jamaica.

A bridal shower was held in May at Basile's in Hometown.

The new Mrs. Semuta is a 1996 graduate of Tamaqua Area High School, and a 2001 graduate of Bloomsburg University. She is currently working toward her master's degree in education at Wilkes University.

She is employed as a teacher at Hazleton Area High School.

Mr. Semuta is a 1992 graduate of Hazleton Area High School and a 1997 graduate of Penn State University. He earned a master's degree in 2002 from Gannon University.

He is also employed as a teacher at Hazleton Area High School.

The newlyweds currently reside in Nesquehoning.
