Coaldale man's harassment, assault charges withdrawn

A Coaldale man had charges of assault and harassment withdrawn before Magisterial District Justice Stephen J. Bayer, Tamaqua this week.

Mario J. Mascolo, 55, of West Ruddle Street, had been charged with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct by Coaldale Officer Andrew Girard stemming from an altercation. Mascola was charged and arraigned on Sept. 4.In other cases before Bayer:Bryan R. Hosler, 41, of Old Route 209, Tamaqua, waived DUI charges as well as a summary charge of the period for requiring lighted maps. Hosler was charged by Tamaqua Patrolman Thomas J. Duarte on Aug. 31.Robert C. Laughlin, 51, of Elm Street, Tamaqua, waived DUI charges, as well as a summary traffic offense of failure to keep right. Laughlin was charged by Duarte on Aug. 3.Nicole D. Moore, 34, of Hazel Street, Tamaqua, waived charges of DUI and careless driving. Moore was charged by West Penn Township Chief of Police Brian J. Johnson on Aug. 13.Jorge Diaz, 39, of East Washington Street, McAdoo, was held for Schuylkill County Court by Bayer on charges of terroristic threats and harassment. Diaz was charged by McAdoo Patrolman Joseph A. David on Aug. 27.Jean M. Obrien, 49, of South Hancock Street, McAdoo, waived charges of Driving Under the Influence (DUI) of alcohol to Schuylkill Court. A summary charge of duties at a stop sign was withdrawn. Obrien was charged by Officer David on Aug. 27.Carmen J. Cara, 43, of Center Street, Kelayres, waived DUI charges, while four summary offenses, including two for disregard for traffic lanes, as well as duties at a stop sign and careless driving, were withdrawn. Trooper Matthew C. Barnett of Pa. State Police filed the charges with Bayer on Aug. 2.
