College financial aid workshop postponed

Published February 25. 2010 05:00PM

State Rep. Keith McCall said his Free Application for Federal Student Aid Workshop originally scheduled for this Saturday in Nesquehoning has been postponed until Saturday, March 13 due to the forecasted inclement weather.

The workshop will now be held from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 13 at Lehigh Carbon Community College's Carbon Center, 24 Locust St., Nesquehoning.

Experts will be on hand to help students and families complete the 2010-11 Free Application for Federal Student Aid. This single application is used to determine eligibility for almost all types of federal, state and college-based financial aid for current and prospective students.

McCall said students who are unable to attend the workshop can still obtain FAFSA forms from school guidance offices or online at www.educationplanner.org. To find out more about PHEAA and for more help in planning for college, visit www.pheaa.org or call (570) 826-1476.
