Lehighton Area first grade students spent three weeks attending Title I Reading Camp during the month of July. Students reviewed reading strategies and skills under the direction of teachers Tara Derr and Diane Schnell. The reading strategies and skills helped them to better prepare for second grade. This year's camp theme was the beach. Fun activities included: building a sand castle, going on a treasure hunt and making an octopus freeze pop. Students participating included, front row from left, Cara Ahner, Brooke Schleicher and Mackenzie Light. Back row, Alicia Shaffer, Luke Behler, Corbin Frisvold and Joshua Martomyak.
