Weissport Borough Council unanimously hired Jessica Ahner as the new secretary-treasurer for the borough. Ahner will be paid $14 per hour up to 10 hours per week. She passed a background check and has been professionally bonded for $120,000 as a condition of employment.

A lengthy discussion regarding the poor condition of roads in the borough took place. Councilwoman Brenda Leiby suggested reaching out to state Rep. Doyle Heffley for assistance in obtaining funds to complete necessary repairs.

The Weissport Recreation Committee is holding its annual yard sale in the park from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. The rain date is Sunday.
