Saylorsburg man facing multiple charges after Ross crash

A Saylorsburg man whose license is suspended because of DUI-related offenses, according to state police at the Lehighton barracks, fled the scene of a one-vehicle crash in Ross Township at 5:58 p.m. June 11.

Police said Kyle S. Dietz, 38, left the scene off Woodhaven Drive but was identified and is facing six separate charges.

Police said he was southbound in a 2003 Ford F-150 pickup truck and was nearing the intersection with Mount Eaton Road when he attempted to negotiate an uphill left-hand curve in the roadway while driving too fast for conditions. The truck failed to negotiate the curve, exited the road and drove across the driveway at 2154 Woodhaven Drive, impacting a large boulder with its front end. Police said the vehicle, which also knocked down a mailbox on a post, became immobilized because its front end was hung up on the boulder.

The vehicle sustained heavy front-end damages and was towed from the scene.

Dietz was uninjured, police said.
