Pleasant Valley school board

The Pleasant Valley school board approved the following new hires, assignment changes and athletic contracts in the human resources report for the month of February. They include:

• Change of current assignment 2-25: Deena Boyne from administrative secretary to acting district services coordinator at Polk for $48,000 (prorated). Replacing Viola Murphy.

• Change of supplemental athletic contract assignments 2-25: Jeremy Gigliotti, baseball, from varsity assistant to junior varsity assistant, and Joseph Anderton, baseball, from junior varsity assistant to varsity assistant.

• Extension of current assignment: Christina Ciaravino, LTS kindergarten teacher. Replacing Sarah Sipler for the remainder of the school year.

• Hiring of long-term substitute: Caitlin Simpson, LTS Math teacher at PVHS, $45,467 (prorated). Replacing Derek Strohl from Jan. 22 to March 26; and Melissa Roberti, LTS part-time librarian at PVES, $45,067 (prorated). Replacing Sarah Jean Rottenberger from Feb. 16 to the end of the school year.

• Intramural Advisers 2-11: Weightlifting/Football, PVHS, Blaec Seaegar; 9-11 PV Cyber Career adviser, Jennifer Keller; and Preseason Track, PVHS, George Fair.

• Resignations: Amy Crilley, substitute paraprofessional associate, 2-11.

• Supplemental athletic contracts: Bob VanDerheyden, varsity boys lacrosse head coach; Tristan Dorn and Jeff Kaye, boys lacrosse varsity assistants; Scott Castone, JV baseball assistant; Jeremy Goff and Meghan Whitney, junior high softball assistants; Katherine Lenart, JV softball assistant; and Matthew Frable, varsity and JV track and field assistant.

• Supplemental non-coaching athletic contracts: Theresa Sinisko, JV baseball scoreboard operator; Matt Pierce, JV baseball scorebook/scorekeeper; and Bron Leupold, junior high girls basketball scoreboard operator. For boys basketball, Dana West, junior high scoreboard operator; Elaine Cucci, freshman and JV ticket staff; Jackie Tortora, freshman and JV ticket staff. For track and field, Carol Priebe and Bobbi Shupp, junior high timer; Christopher Curtis, varsity and junior high timer, and varsity and junior high judge, Diane DeBarry and John Gesiskie, junior high judge; Jillian Janotti, varsity judge; and Lori Bray, spring event manager.

• Supplemental nonathletic contracts: Winter School: Danielle Unger, English; and Talitha Graham, math and science.
